Townhouse fire- Falkland Place

This morning, Box 05-09 was sounded for a house on fire in the 5800 block of Falkland Place with a report of a person trapped on the rear deck. #Engine332 responded as the 4th due engine (RIT) and #Truck33 as the search company. Battalion 3 arrived on scene of a 2-story, middle of the group townhouse with fire on the first floor extending to the second and started the Working Fire Dispatch. While units from Kentland were responding, the Fire Task Force was called for, adding two additional engines and a truck to the assignment. Engine 332 arrived at Engine Company 23’s hydrant and was reassigned by Command to stretch a line to the Bravo 1 exposure to check for extension. Engine Co. 33 stretched the 400’ into the exposure and after finding no fire extension was reassigned to Division 1 of the main fire building to assist Engine Co. 38 in extinguishing the remaining fire and then to Division 2 to relieve Engine Co. 26 in knocking down hotspots. Truck 33 arrived and took a ladder to the rear due to the report of a person trapped. With the civilian already down, Truck 33 entered through side Charlie and searched the first and second floors as well as the basement before being assigned to Division 2 to open up for Engine Co. 26. Crews from Kentland remained on scene to open up and wet down the second floor before returning to the Landover Road firehouse.
