This past Sunday we celebrated what would have been the 51st birthday of past Assistant Chief and President John Burns. Burns was the epitome of an Engine Company man before he passed away in 2017, Burns could be found in the officers seat of Engine 331. Honoring his memory, yesterday we focused on the backbone of Kentland, Engine Company operations. Prospective Wagon Drivers spent hours practicing pumping in different scenarios while probationers stretched all the hand lines, advanced them, and honed their craft. For dinner, our chefs tried their hand at Chicken Trio, a Burns favorite, for the 24 members who came out to train in his memory.
