House fire in Bowie

Yesterday evening, #RescueEngine33 was dispatched to the 14800 blk. of Bowie Farm Court as the WFD Engine on Box 43-05. First arriving units had smoke from the eaves and on the second floor and discovered a fire in the attic. RE33 arrived as crews were attempting to gain access to the fire from below and open up from above. The crew threw several ground ladders before being deployed by command to Division 2 for fire extinguishment. With several of the initial lines in the door experiencing water issues, RE33 stretched a line off of Engine Co. 37 to the second floor and up into the attic where they were able to put out a large bulk of the fire. The crew then worked to continue to wet down the attic and open up from underneath. RE33 operated for approximately 2 hours before helping rack up and returning to Kentland.
