Fireman Duncan Elston

On March 28, Fireman Duncan Elston was injured while operating at a house fire. Duncan and other members became trapped after portions of the roof collapsed on them. After being removed by other members from Engine 33 and Tower 33, Duncan was transported to MedStar Burn Center in Washington, DC where he has since remained hospitalized for significant burns to his arms and legs. This afternoon, Duncan was able to complete his response to Box Alarm 08-07 as he was picked up by Tower Ladder 33 and returned to quarters after being discharged from the hospital. He will still face a long recovery. All of the Kentland family, particularly Duncan’s father “Big Mike” (also a Kentland Fireman) are very thankful for the support and well wishes sent from so many.
