**DIGNIFIED TRANSFER AND SERVICES FOR STAFF SERGEANT AND LIFE MEMBER CHRISTOPHER SLUTMAN**

MESSAGE FROM FIRE CHIEF OLEG PELEKHATY
The Kentland Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD), Incorporated is posting the following announcement in regard to the upcoming dignified transfer of SSgt and Life Member Christopher Slutman:
On Monday, April 22, 2019, the dignified transfer of SSgt and Life Member Christopher Slutman will begin at 1000hrs from Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Delaware. The procession will proceed from Dover Air Force Base to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, onto the New Jersey Turnpike, to the George Washington Bridge, into the City of New York. The procession is slated to take at least three hours. To honor Chris, we are asking for members of fire, police, EMS, and the public to line the route, rendering honors when the motorcade passes. Most importantly, this includes all overpasses along the route. On Thursday, April 25, 2019, a public visitation will be held from 2:00pm-4:00pm and again from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Joseph A. Luchese Funeral Home, Inc, located at 726 Morris Park Avenue, The Bronx, New York, 10462. Members of the public are invited to attend. Parking is limited and public transportation is encouraged. We anticipate a large turnout for this event.
On Friday, April 26, 2019, at 11:00am, the funeral for Life Member and SSgt Christopher Slutman will be held at Saint Thomas Church, 1 W. 53rd Street, New York, NY 10019. If you plan on attending the funeral, please arrive two hours early. Seating is limited. Unfortunately, not all members of the public wishing to remember Chris will be permitted due to space. Please plan accordingly.
Following the funeral, there will be a southbound dignified transfer of SSgt and Life Member Slutman on Saturday, April 27th, 2019. Again, we are requesting honors to be rendered along the route. Further details on the timing of this will be released in the coming days.
