Rescue Engine Responds on the WFD

After clearing a carbon monoxide leak with the report of sick people in Company 38’s area, Rescue Engine 33 was picked up as the WFD (working fire dispatch) Engine for 4002 Byers Street in Company 17’s area. With their current location, Rescue Engine 33 was in prime position for a fast response and ultimately arrived on-scene with great positioning on side charlie before the 3rd and 4th due engines from the initial dispatch. Quick thinking by the driver and officer resulted in the stretching of the 400’ preconnected hoseline through the thicket and found a detached shed on side bravo, fully involved with fire extending to the house. The shed and extension were quickly extinguished and the crew moved the hoseline into the house through side charlie, knocking a small amount of fire that remained in the ceiling. Once all of the fire had been knocked and overhaul had begun, Rescue Engine 33 was released from the scene, allowing the crew to return home.
