Engine and Tower Respond to Building Fire

Shortly after calling in a second crew, the men from 33 were alerted to 1805 Olive Street for the reported building fire in Company 38’s first due. As Engine 331 and Tower Ladder 33 responded on US Route 50, a large column of smoke could be seen coming from the reported area. First arriving units reported two trailers on fire with extension to the warehouse. 331’s crew assisted in water supply and staged on side charlie as RIT. Tower Ladder 33 reported to side charlie and the crew began cutting the roll down doors using forcible entry saws. As the crew was gaining access to the building, command requested the Tower to be set up for ladder pipe operations. While staging as RIT, the engine company’s crew assisted the next arriving engine in laying dual lines to the tower. With the assistance from the ladder pipe, the incident was placed under control and was scaled back. The men operated for approximately 2 hours before returning to Company 33.
