6th Fire in 5 Days

Shortly after dinner on June 20th, the crew of Tower Ladder 33 and Chief 33A were alerted to the 1900 block of Brewton Street in Company 37’s first due for the reported fire from the side of the house. The first arriving units were met with a two-story, split foyer, single family dwelling with fire showing from the roof. Chief 33A had command of division 2. TL33 was the second arriving truck company, and the interior team (officer and barman) forced entry to side charlie and completed a search while the exterior team (driver and canman) gained access to the roof before rejoining the interior team to conduct secondary searches. All searches were negative. The men from 33 assisted in opening up the ceiling to check for extension before the incident was scaled back. The men returned to Company 33 shortly after. This was the 2nd working fire of the day for the men of 33, and the 6th fire in 5 days.
