Eleven O’clock Fire Alarm Turns Into A Working Fire at Eight O’clock Coffee

At 11:40 hours PSC dropped the Local Alarm for the Automatic Fire Alarm at Eight O’clock Coffee, on box 33-12. Engine 331 and Reserve Truck 33 arrived on the scene with nothing evident. Units from 33 made contact with on-site personnel who were reporting a fire in a coffee roaster, The officer of Engine Company 33 requested a street alarm, adding Chief 33 to the run. Units from 33 confirmed a fire in the coffee roaster and exhaust chimney that leads to the roof. Quick work was made of the fire by units from 33 which in large part was due to members arriving on the scene in full PPE wasting no time having to get ready when they confirmed they had a fire. Engine and Truck 33 racked up and Kentland recommended not roasting coffee for over 3 hours past the time it’s supposed to be served.
