Engine and Truck 33 Respond for the Auto on Fire Inside the Building

Engine 331 as the First Due Engine, and Reserve Truck 33 as the search company are back at it again. PSC dropped the box assignment for the 5700 block of Columbia Park Road, box 38-03, The B and T Auto Service for a reported auto on fire inside of the building. While en-route PSC advised all units that they were getting a couple calls on it, as well as there was 1 person who was on fire. Company 33 Arrived on the scene of a 1 story commercial building with smoke showing. Engine 331 deployed The 250′ of 1 1/2″. After making a knock on the auto Chief 9 determined the fire had made its way into the attic. Due to the height of the attic there weren’t any hooks that could be used to easily open the attic. It wouldn’t take long for fire to burn its way through the attic and start coming from the metal roof. After several minutes and extensive work by the truck companies to open up the fire was knocked. The Engine Company also had to overcome a hydrant that was out of service, but with quick work by the other Engines on the box to adapt Engine 331 never lost water. Truck 33 operated as the search company and performed a search of the building. All searches proved to be negative, 1 person was transported to the hospital with nonlife threating injuries.
