Miniature Pumper 33 Request Street Alarm for Mattress on Fire

At 1728 hours Mini Pumper 33 was alerted for the non-emergency service call in the area of the 9700 block of Woodview Drive, in Company 46’s first due, for water coming from the home with an unknown odor. The Crew from Mini Pumper 33 arrived on the scene and met with the calling party who brought the crew to the 1700 block of Spanish Oak Lane. The Mini Pumper had nothing evident, but did have an odor of something burning coming from the vacant home. The Mini Pumper forced entry to the vacant house and had a smoke condition at the door. The crew immediately notified Public Safety Communications to start a Street alarm for smoke in the house. Engine 332 and Truck 33 were alerted as the First due Engine and Truck. The Mini Pumper stretched the 200’ inch and half pre-connect to the top floor where they found and extinguished a small mattress fire. Engine 332 arrived on the scene laying out 500’ of 3inch hose and deploying The Kentland Front Bumper Line™ to back up the Mini crew. Truck 33 opened up for the Engine, secured utilities, and vented the structure. Engine and Truck 33 racked up and returned to the Landover Road Fire House, while Mini Pumper 33 remained on the scene waiting for investigators.
