Just after 0200 in the morning Truck 33 was alerted as The Search Company for the house on fire in the 5800 block of Landover Road. While en route Public Safety Communications alerted the box assignment that Cheverly Police were on the scene confirming a house on fire. Company 9 arrived on the scene and gave an initial size up of a two-story single family dwelling with fire showing from side Alpha and Bravo. The Working Fire Dispatch was alerted bringing Engine 331 to the scene. The Engine arrived as the 3rd Due Engine and command had them give a side C report and work with PE830. Truck 33 preformed a primary search of all floors, which proved to be negative. The Engine and Truck operated for 40 minutes before command scaled the incident back to Two Engines and a Truck. Engine and Truck 33 returned to the station where Engine 332 had remained staffed during the incident protecting the citizens of the Landover area.
