Engine Company No. 33 Extinguishes Fire at 8100 block of Sheriff Road (video)

***Automatic Fire Alarm turned Working Fire***- Earlier this afternoon, Engine Company No. 33 was dispatched to the 8100 block of Sheriff Road in Company 33’s first due. Within a short time, Engine Company No. 33 arrived with smoke showing from the reported address. The Officer In-Charge filled out the Box Alarm assignment and established command as the crew secured a water supply and stretched a pre-connected hose line. Members found fire on the 1st/2nd floor and extinguished the same. Deputy Chief 33 arrived and assumed the Sheriff Road Command.
For several years, the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department has required members to get dressed (PPE) on all Automatic Fire Alarms. This not only keeps our members efficient with their protective equipment, but ensures that they are prepared and ready to work on every incident…. seconds count, because taking minutes to perform can kill.
