At 0323 hours, Box Alarm 38-03 was transmitted for the house on fire in the 1500 block of Ballinger Avenue. Engine Company and Tower Ladder 33 arrived to find a two-story, detached single-family house with smoke showing an people jumping from the windows. Fire was located in the second floor rear and quickly knocked down. While performing a primary search, there was a civilian fatality located. Units from Company 33 remained on the scene until approx. 0700 hours.
