Remembering Mark Edward “Mick” McKenzie

On this date, eight-years ago, the fire service lost yet another great fireman. Mark Edward “Mick” McKenzie passed away from an illness at the age of just 45 years old. “Mick”, as he was affectionately known to his friends, was one of the most knowledgeable fireman to ever walk through the doors of the Engine House (or as Mick would have said “Truck House”) on Landover Road. Those that had the pleasure to meet him always remarked on his amazing ability to teach, especially when it came to Truck Company work. He undoubtedly had a major part in making Tower Ladder 33 what it is today. As the Officers and Membership of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. remember Mick and his accomplishments today, we ask that everyone continue to keep his family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.
