Engine 331 First Due with Fire Showing

After a busy afternoon of running calls including an auto fire on route 50, multiple accidents, and a couple of box alarms, Public Safety Communications alerted Engine Company 33 along with other units to the 1800 block of Dutch Village Drive for reports of a house on fire. Engine Company 33 arrived on scene to find a two story middle of the row townhouse with smoke showing from side Charlie. The crew stretched the Kentland Bumper Line to side alpha while the officer completed his 360 of the home. On side Charlie the officer found an attached shed on fire quickly extending up to the balcony and first floor of the home. Engine Company 33’s crew stretched inside and extinuished the fire on the first floor then moved through the basement to the exterior to extinguish the attached shed and rear balconies. Units operated on scene for approximately 1 hour before returning to service.
