Engine, Tower & B Chief on the 38 Box

At 0946hrs on April 20, 2016 the box alarm was transmitted for the area of Martin Luther King Jr Highway and Carrington Ave for reports of a house on fire. Engine 331, Tower 33, and Chief 33B responded with 11 volunteers. As units began investigating the area of dispatch Engine 331 noticed smoke coming from the rear of a house in the 6300 block of Morocco Street.
With the first due engine on another street investigating Engine 331 assumed first due and laid out 3 inch supply line to the home with the tower right behind them. Crews went on scene to find a 2 story duplex with smoke showing from the rear.
The engine officer completed a 360 of the home and found smoke coming from a rear addition. The engine crew stretched the Kentland Bumper Line and the tower began forcing entry to the home and throwing ground ladders. Once crews made access and stretched inside fire was found in the rear addition.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire, completed searches, and overhauled the structure. The assignment was held with the Kentland companies for a final wet down and to assist investigations. Chief 33B had command of the incident.
