Tower Back to 46’s First Due: 10200 Blk Campus Way South
The crew staffing the firehouse were in the middle of apparatus checks when they were alerted to respond on the tower to company 46’s first due for the 3rd time in as many days. This time for reports of smoke coming from the roof of a home. The tower responded as the first due truck on the box with 6 volunteers. Paramedic Engine 846 arrived on the scene and reported a 2 story middle of the row townhouse with nothing evident. The officer of 846 completed a 360 of the home and reported he had smoke showing from the walk out basement in the rear and advised all units would be going to work. The tower arrived on scene and set up on side alpha. The interior crew worked their way inside to back up Paramedic Engine 846 and open up for them. The exterior crew began throwing ladders and ventilating the structure as the tower was being set up in case roof operations needed to be initiated. A fire was found in a basement laundry room. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked for extension. Once the all clear was given the crew returned to service.
