Liquor Store Fire: 5600 Blk Landover Road
When Public Safety Communications dispatched 5611 Landover Road for the report of a liquor store on fire the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department responded with 12 volunteers. 4 of those members were aboard Engine 94, the first due engine, as they were filling in for company 9 while they held their annual banquet. 6 volunteers responded in on the 4th due engine from the Landover Road engine house, along with Chief 33 and Chief 33A taking in the box. Chief 33 arrived on scene to find a two story, detached, fire resistive liquor store with smoke showing from side alpha. Engine 94 arrived and the volunteers from kentland went to work stretching an attack line to find the fire under the supervision of Division 1 Chief 33A. Engine 332 arrived and secured a water supply for the third due engine and stretched an attack line to side alpha and established the RIT along with Truck 14. Fire was found behind the counter area and had extended into the ceiling. Once extinguished and under control units operated for 1 hour to assist with overhaul and investigations.
