Tower and Wagon to Capitol Heights: 701 Brooke Road
At 2119 hours Public Safety Communications dispatched 701 Brooke Road for reports of smoke coming from the neighbors house. Responding on the box was Engine 332, Tower Ladder 33, and Chief 33A with a total of 12 volunteers. The tower was returning from a box in Silver Hill when alerted. The tower arrived first on scene to find a single story residential structure with smoke showing from side alpha and delta. Chief 33A arrived and assumed the Brooke Road command and started the working fire dispatch. Engine 332 running as the 3rd due engine arrived on scene laying a 3 inch supply line into the scene and stretched the 250′ pre connect to side charlie. The tower made entry through side alpha and began searches and locating the fire. The fire was found involving the living room area and fire was found in the floors, the walls, and attic space. The tower began opening up the walls and ceiling to expose the fire while exterior crews began ventilating the structure. The engine company stretched into the house checking for extension in the basement with minimal extension found and extinguished the line was stretched into the attic to extringuish the remaining fire. Units operated for 2 hours to assist in overhaul and investigations.
