Engine and Tower With Fire Showing: 4906 Taylor Road

Just after 2100 hours PSC dispatched box 07-08 for the report of a house on fire with people trapped. First arriving units went on scene with a large 3 story home with fire showing from the second floor and extending to the third. First arriving units began to make the stretch and started searches. Companies completed searches and all came up negative. The home had been converted into multiple apartments and companies on division 1 were dealing with hoarding conditions. With temperatures hovering near zero degrees and hand lines freezing command requested the fire task force be sounded. This brought Tower 33 with 5 volunteers to the scene. While responding in command requested the evacuation tones and pulled all companies out of the building due to spreading fire conditions. Once on the scene the crew from the tower stretched an attack line and began working over a ladder placed to the third floor knocking down fire. Command requested PSC to fill out the second alarm bringing Engine 332 with 5 volunteers to the scene. Engine 332 assisted in setting up a water supply for truck 12 as they began to set up for master streams. Command sent units back into the structure one last time in an attempt to make a push on the fire. Tower 33 was designated to go to the division three and open up. While operating on the interior the fire burned through the roof and the floors began to become compromised and again command requested all units to evacuate the building. Units remained on scene for just over three hours before being placed in service.
