Engine, Tower, and “B” Chief Take In 30 House: 6857 Farragut St

At 0318 hours on October 24, 2015, Engine 331 and Tower Ladder 33 were dispatched to 6857 Farragut St in Company 30’s first due for a reported house fire with people trapped. First arriving units went on scene with smoke showing from the alpha side of a single story duplex. Units from 33 reported to Side Charlie to find 2 stories including a walk out basement with fire showing from the top floor and extending to the Delta exposure. The Tower crew entered the basement of the Delta exposure to conduct searches and then made their way to the top floor, where they assisted an elderly female out of the home; the interior crew then opened up the top floor to find the attic fully involved. Engine Co 33 stretched the 250′ pre connected line to side Charlie and made access into the basement; after clearing the basement, they made their way to the top floor and into the exposure building to extinguish the fire found by the Tower. Units operated for approximately one hour to bring the fire under control and complete overhaul.
