Today the volunteers at Kentland 33 began renovations to the station watch room, front foyer and tile floors. The watch room is being transformed into a traditional "old, city like" watch area. Complete with mock brick work, wooden trim, brass railings, a tin ceiling, station gong (bell), wooden desk and misc. other items. The flooring in the watch room and entrance hallway is also being replaced with industrial ceramic tile. This should stand-up to the heavy traffic the floor receives on a daily basis. The front foyer is being completely refurbished to house the station vending machines and administrative memorandums. All of these renovations are being done by the dedicated volunteers that man Kentland 33 with some assistance with the tile work (contractor) and misc. small items. The renovations are being completed in between the 20 average runs daily and should be finished within the next week. The final pictures will be posted after the completion. A special thanks goes out to Ex-Fire Chief 33 Bryan Teague and The Morris Tile Company for their donation of the beautiful tile.
