ENGINE AND RESCUE ENGINE 33 RUN FIRST DUE FIRE: 1830 ALLENDALE PLACE IN PALMER PARK

Sunday, June 17, 2012 At 1718 hours Public Safety Communications alerted Engine and Rescue Engine 33 along with surrounding units to 1830 Allendale Place in Palmer Park for a reported House Fire.  The Engine and Rescue Engine responded with 8 Volunteers.  Units from Kentland arrived on the scene and reported a two story "triple" with smoke showing.  The crew from Engine Co. 33 stretched the 150' 1 1/12" Bumper line while the Rescue Engine picked up the Wagons hydrant and pulled the 400' attack line.  Fire was found in the kitchen with some minor extension in the walls.  Quint 38 arrived as the first due special and began opening up for the Engine Companies.  Crews from companies 8 & 9 checked the exposures.   With the fire in check and all searches proving negative, command began to scale back the incident to units from 33 and 38.  Kentland returned to service 90 minutes later.
