Around 1030 hours an "unknown" person was heard over dispatch channel one stating that a house was on fire at the intersection of Edmonston Road and Buchannan Street in Bladensburg. Moments later the box alarm was transmitted for the same. Rescue Engine 33 with five volunteers was dispathced as the third due special service on the assignment. Engine 92 arrived seconds later and reported a two-story home with heavy fire in the rear. Although the Rescue Engine from Kentland was last due on the assignment they arrived second. Command immediatly put the crew to work as the first due special service with Lieutenant Nick Martin as the OIC. The crew entered behind Engine Company 9 and started a primary search. While completing this the driver placed portable ladders and the interior team ventialted as they proceeded throughout the home. Engine 92 located fire involving the rear of the home and began to extinguish the same. With extension moving upward Command requested the Taskforce alarm bringing Tower Ladder 33 with an additional five Kentland Volunteers. The majority of the fire was knocked down within 10 minutes and all extension was located and confined within 20 minutes. Command held the 100% Volunteer units from Bladensburg and Kentland for the remainder of the incident. Chief 9 had the Command.
