2 SHOT, 1 OVERTURNED, 1 EJECTED, 1 PINNED, 1 RUN-OVER.... AT 1 CALL

-
Just before 0200hrs, Rescue Engine 33 (Martin) was dispatched to Ardwick-Ardmore Road and Martin Luther King Hwy for a "pedestrian struck". In the two minutes it took to arrive on scene, communications advised that shots were being fired on scene and there was also a vehicle overturned with one pinned. Chief 33 (Riley) and Engine 331 (Pullen) were alerted to respond. Rescue Engine 33 arrived to find an SUV on its side with a victims leg sticking out the undercarriage side, pinned between the vehicle and the pavement - further investigation revealed that she was also shot. Another victim was found on the other side of the SUV, also shot. A third victim had been ejected and was found 200 feet from the scene with multiple traumatic injuries. The Rescue Engine crew placed rescue struts and cribbing around the vehicle, then used several airbags to lift the SUV enough to free the victims leg. The remainder of the extrication was then completed with a total time of under twenty minutes. The crew of E331 provided a protection line and cared for the other victims, which now included three others who had been in the SUV when it rolled. Chief Riley, responding on his last call as Chief, commented: "Clearwater has a lot to live up to..."
